"This car is a prime example of a quality vehicle, built to last and provide a safe and comfortable ride (at any speed.) With only a couple of small parking lot dents and trim that has started to age, my car (at 15 years old and 235,000 miles) looks almost new and has NO Rust (lived its life in OH and MI.) Excellent power from a V6 engine and still gets 30 mpg open road (at a steady 2000 rpm's) and 25 mpg in town driving.
In my opinion Acura has not made a better looking, more comfortable riding or more sure-footed car since this body style. Notice how many you still see on the road? Owners don't get rid of them - unless they pass them on to one of their children."
"Great daily driver, comfortable, smooth, quiet, and quick.
Other than normal maintenance and a transmission recall, I have had no problems with this car. After 13 years and 185,000 miles, it has been a solid, reliable vehicle, that still feels good to drive."
"Bought this 1999 Acura 3.2TL new and still have it. I have almost 215,000 miles on it and it runs perfectly. Only one minor leak, no squeeks or rattles and rides as good as the new TLX (I drove one). 1999 was the only year of the 4 speed transmission and I've had zero problems with it. I left my hot rodding back in the 60's so this car is driven rationally (speed limits only). I have only replaced a starter, 2 motor mounts, and several small electrical problems. Running on 89 octane, I get 31 MPG on the highway and 25-26 around a suburban town. Sound too good but over 213,000 miles, I know what I'm talking about. The car has had ALL regular maintenance; read fluid changes, timing belts, brakes, etc, and has largely been garaged kept. I plan on keeping it until it's just not economically feasible to do so but that appears to be in the distant future. Only wish for thing I'd like is for it to handle a little better. However, not many twisting, mountain roads here in Florida so that's a minor fault. Hope all of you with a '99 are having the same experience."
"I purchased my first car in 1967 (Triumph Spitfire) and my TL in August, 2002. After almost 13 years and 154,000 miles the Acura has exceeded my expectations in almost every area. The engine/tranny combo were designed wonderfully, as the tranny always knows what gear to go to depending on what I ask the car to do. It rides smooth as silk, is very quiet, gets great milage and has all the power you could ask for. The stereo has great sound. Unfortunately, there have been two quality problems but they are not deal breakers. The CD changer died after 9 years, and it costs over $500 to have it repaired. After 30,000 miles the tranny hesitates when shifting from Park to Drive or changing directions. You have to wait until you feel a second "shift" or you will experience a neck snapper when you apply throttle. Neither is a major problem, but I hope Acura has solved them, as I am now looking at a 2015 RDX."
"I must say this is one of the fun sport sedans I have ever driven. Has plenty of power and handles the curves. Just a fantastic safe Vehicle. Has ever available option. The other great thing about this vehicle is it will last."
