Can't sell it, great suv!

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 209,000

Pros: "Reliability, and everything else"

Cons: "gas mileage and requires premium"

"I've been looking at buying a new car and just don't feel like many of the new cars are much of an upgrade to my MDX. I bought this car with 90k miles on it, it now has 209k. In that time, I've only had to put an EGR valve in and do routine maintenance. There is a clunking in the front end now but that's pretty much a given on Michigan roads for high mileage cars. It seems like my friends and family always have their car in the shop but I'm confident in mine. The AWD and traction control gets this car through the snow without a problem. I've almost forgotten that snow is a problem for some people. Sound system is great. The car drives as smooth as silk, even with its high miles. The only thing that I don't like about this car is the gas mileage and the fact that it must be run on premium. Also there have been a few times that the stability control has involuntarily braked on dry pavement recently."

Pros: "drive through anything"

Cons: "16mpg"

"Ive put this thing through he77. Never had a problem at all. 280 clean still driving, only work done is brakes and fluids. Engine running like a champ gotta love honda. The most reliable engines in existence."

Pros: "very good service advisors &wait areas"

Cons: "rotten leather, no satisfaction w/"

"lovelove, LOVED my MDX touring. It had all the bells and whistles & we planned on keeping my car just short of forever UNTIL AT JUST 6YEARS OLD the perforated leather seats began to fall to pieces, 1st the front pass seat began ripping and falling to pieces. The Dealer refused any help nor assistance in repair or replacement other than the customary 10% which amounted to a drop in the bucket so we went foreward(in good faith)paying just short of $2000.to replace one seat on my beloved MDX TOURING,that had only driven apx. 13,000miles in the 2 yrs that I was in ownership. Almost IMMEDIATELY after REPLACING front seat at great expence,the REAR SEAT HAS ALSO FALLEN to THE SAME FATE AND SHREADED WITH ROTT!!! this is and has been very,very discouraging & heart breaking!!! I would assume & hope that a LUXURY CAR CO.like Acura would treat their formally loyal customers with more LOYALITY THAN WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING. At this point I am SELLING my car and getting another BRAND. thank you and I hope you have better luck w/your baby."

Pros: "spacious, smooth drive,& acceleration"

Cons: "gas mileage, trip computer,& no auto trunk pop"

"ive read alot of reviews and regardless of the transmission problems went out and purchased a 2002 mdx 1 owner with only 130k miles for under 10k am very happy vehicle is immaculate interior perfect. Me and my family of 5 really aqppreciate the space of the mdx and how quite it is driving down the freeway or gravel roads. Had all the maintenance performed around 90k including timing belt. trasmision seems fine keeping fingers crossed that we have a defect free model i love the silver and black combo. The black leather being so immaculate and clean praying my toddlers dont ruin this vehicle."

Seriously- best vehicle almost ever!

Pros: "comfort, stable, reliable, beautiful"

Cons: "high test gas, no auto back door"

"On everything that was available back in 2001 this car is the greatest thing. My only criticism is that it requires high test gas. I would not be getting a new car even now- it still drives like a youngster- but with 200,000 miles I am a bit anxious because I must travel quite a bit on main highways and long distances for my work. If I was only doing city travel I would keep it until it died of natural causes. I think this car will take someone at least another 100,000!"

Great vehicle! Very practical and reliable

"My 2002 Acura MDX has been a great vehicle! It is comfortable, convenient and most definitely reliable. I bought the car new and have had only a few minor maintenance issues. I have put the least amount of money into this car than any I have had for any car I've had before. Also, it is a great family vehicle. It is very spacious and is very practical for long road trips or transporting a lot of cargo. I would definitely recommend this car."
