If you've got to have a wagon, there's not another like this. The 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 is the baddest, boldest wagon to grace the asphalt. Based on the popular Magnum wagon, the SRT8 jacks up the horsepower with a 6.1-liter HEMI V8 engine, while underneath Dodge tweaks an already capable suspension to deliver the thrill-ride of a lifetime—at least, for the category of vehicles that can also tote lumber from the home improvement warehouse. When you're not hot-rodding around town, the Magnum SRT8 can be quite civilized, offering a comfortable ride, a roomy rear seat and a deep cargo hold. About the only thing to hold you back might be the price which, at over $38,000, places a $6,000-plus premium over our second-favorite Dodge wagon, the HEMI-powered Magnum R/T.

If you're a serious driver or image-seeker who loves big, fast, rear-wheel-drive American performance cars, yet has an occasional need to haul people and stuff, you will find the 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 right on the money. If you are budget or fuel-economy conscious, prefer something less flamboyant and would like your youngsters in back to be able to see out with ease, the Dodge Magnum SRT8 might not be your kind of wagon.
